The Faculties of Law, Al-Alsun and Education win the first three places in the Grand Competition for Theatrical Acting for the academic year 2023/2024

Within the framework of Ain Shams University’s support for its talented students and under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, the Education and Students Sector, the General Administration of Youth Welfare, the Artistic Activity Department, in cooperation with the University Student Union, organized the Grand Competition Festival for Theatrical Acting, which was held during the period from August 19 to September 3, 2024, with the participation of 12 faculties.

The jury of the shows presented at the Faculty of Girls Theater was formed by Prof. Ayman Al-Shiwi, Professor of Acting and Directing, Dean of the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts - Academy of Arts, Director General of the National Theater and Director of the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater, Prof. Samah Al-Saeed, Professor of Acting at the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, and Prof. Yasmine Abdel-Haseeb, Acting Head of the Department of Criticism and Drama at the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, over the course of twelve days, the university's faculties presented their own theatrical shows.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, approved the results of the festival, which were as follows: The Best Play Text Award was won by Ahmed Abu El-Ela, a student at the Faculty of Education, in first place for the play “A Very Ordinary Day.” Mohamed Adel, a student at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, won second place for the play “The Great Writer, Uncle Ibrahim.” Mustafa Talaat, a student at the Faculty of Business, won third place for the play “Germinal.”

         
   
         

As for the award for best costume, student Lubna Al-Mansi, a student at the Faculty of Law, won first place for the costume for the theatrical performance "Layalina", student Hajar Kamal from the Faculty of Agriculture won second place for the costume for the theatrical performance "The Future is in Eggs", and student Kholoud Khaled from the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​won third place for the costume for the theatrical performance "Ghosts".

As for the award for best lighting, Abu Bakr Al-Sharif won first place for his overall work, and Ahmed Al-Ramadi, a student at the Faculty of Agriculture, won second place for the theatrical performance "The Future is in Eggs", and student Ahmed Tariq from the Faculty of Business won third place for the theatrical performance "Germinal".

As for the Best Decor Award, Mahmoud Salah Bero, a student at the Faculty of Business, won first place for the decor of the theatrical performance “Germinal.” Student Mohamed Nasser at the Faculty of Arts won second place for the decor of the theatrical performance “Seas of Blood and Poetry.” Student Mohamed Talat at the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​won third place for the decor of the theatrical performance “Ghosts.”

The Best Supporting Actor award went to student Mohamed Reda from the Faculty of Arts, who won first place for acting as a second role for the play “Seas of Blood and Poetry.” Student Mohamed Zaki from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences won second place for acting as a second role for the play “The Great Writer, Uncle Ibrahim.” Student Youssef Baghdadi from the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​won third place for acting as a second role for the play “Ghosts.”

The award for Best Supporting Role for Girls went to student Veronia Shukry from the Faculty of Specific Education, who came in first place for the second role for girls in the play “The Fire Starters.” Student Sondos Gad, a student at the Faculty Computer and Information Sciences, came in second place for the second role for girls in the play “The Great Writer, Uncle Ibrahim.” Student Duaa Mohamed, a student at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, came in third place for the second role for girls in the play “The Great Writer, Uncle Ibrahim.”

         
   
         

As for the award for Best Young Actor in a Leading Role, the student Ahmed Nadi, a student at the Faculty of Law, won first place for acting in a leading role for the play “Layalina.” The student Ibrahim Al-Mogi, a student at the Faculty of Business, won second place for acting in a leading role for the play “Germinal.” The student Mazen Allam, a student at the Faculty of Education, won third place for acting in a leading role for the play “A Very Ordinary Day.”

As for the award for best female lead actor, student Farah Daoud, a student at the Faculty of Mass of Communication, won first place for acting in a female lead role for the play “Waiting for Birth.” Student Rowan Haitham at the Faculty of Girls won second place for acting in a female lead role for the play “In Al-Masbalat.” Student Mona Ashraf at the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​won third place for acting in a female lead role for the play “Ghosts.” Student Youssef Ashraf at the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​​​won the award for excellence for the theatrical play “Ghosts.”

The award for best music went to student Sherif Ashraf from the Faculty of Education, who won first place in music for the play “A Very Ordinary Day.” Student Mohamed Al-Khalfawi won second place in music from the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​for the play “Ghosts.” Student Mark Nady won third place in music from the Faculty of Arts for the play “Seas of Blood and Poetry.”

     
 
     

The Special Jury Award went to the play "Germinal" by the Faculty of Business. The Best Director Award went to Mohamed El-Hadary, Faculty of Law, for the play "Layalina". The second place went to Salah Ehab, Faculty of Al-Alsun, for the play " Ghosts ". The third place went to Islam Khaled, Faculty of Business, for the play "Germinal".

The Best Group Performance Award went to the Faculty of Arts for the play "Seas of Blood and Poetry".

The ranking of the theatrical performances that won the grand prize was as follows: the theatrical performance "Layalina" by the Faculty of Law won first place, the theatrical performance " Ghosts " by the Faculty of Al-Alsun ​​won second place, and the theatrical performance "A Very Ordinary Day" by the Faculty of Education won third place.
