The first session of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Council at Ain Shams University for the academic year 2024/2025

Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, chaired the first session of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Council for the academic year 2024/2025. The session began with congratulations on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday and the start of the new academic year.

         
   
         

She also thanked the council members for their efforts to accomplish the sector's plan during the previous academic year, which included many cultural and artistic seasons, events and distinguished activities from comprehensive development convoys and charitable exhibitions serving the university community. All of these were fruitful activities with the efforts of a distinguished group of vice deans and members of the esteemed council.
Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk congratulated Prof.  Walaa Hamed for appointing Her Excellency as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
In appreciation of the sector management, Prof. Ghada Farouk honored Prof. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Business, and the faculty staff participating in awareness campaigns in schools from various faculties of the university.

         
   
         

During the session, Prof.  Ghada stressed the need to pay attention to the presidential initiative "Bidaya", which carries the slogan "A New Beginning to Build a Human Being" and aims to invest in human capital through a work program targeting human development and working to consolidate the Egyptian identity through the main axes: "Education, Health, Sports, Culture and Providing Job Opportunities", through the various activities and events of the sector, especially organizing comprehensive development convoys, as a plan was developed for a number of development convoys that tour the various governorates of the Republic according to the presidential initiative, namely: "Comprehensive Development Convoy in Cairo Governorate, Ahalina District (1) - Salam City, a development convoy in Shalateen - Halayeb - Abu Ramad, Red Sea Governorate, another in Zagazig, Sharkia Governorate, a comprehensive development convoy in Sohag Governorate, a comprehensive development convoy in Mahrousa District - Cairo Governorate, and a convoy in Qena Governorate" over the course of 100 days. 
Prof. Ghada Farouk also directed the need to organize a number of diverse awareness-raising events within the efforts of the Egyptian state to combat and prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking, rationalize and improve energy use and care for the environment.  The Council also reviewed a website for exchanging equipment between the university's faculties with the aim of investing the university's available capabilities and discussing how to develop the website. Prof. Ghada Farouk also announced "the establishment of a Human Rights Unit with the aim of developing the capabilities of university members in the field of protecting human rights, consolidating its concepts and spreading awareness of it in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and developing society.
