President of Ain Shams University receives the French Ambassador to discuss ways of cooperation

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received this morning, Thursday, Mr. Eric Chevalier, the French Ambassador to Cairo, on a visit aimed at enhancing academic and medical cooperation between the two sides, within the framework of the university's efforts to raise the levels of scientific research and medical education, in line with global developments.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, former President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Ain Shams University expressed his happiness with the strong relations between Egypt and France, and that the two countries have historical and extended relations covering all fields, stressing the university's desire to strengthen its academic relations with French universities and institutions.

   
   

For his part, the French Ambassador expressed his country's interest in developing existing partnerships with Egyptian universities, especially Ain Shams University, which is one of the most important universities in Egypt.

He added that France has a great interest in supporting the health sector in Egypt, through cooperation in the fields of medical training and modern health technology. He also pointed to the possibilities of enhancing the exchange of expertise between researchers and doctors from both sides, which would contribute to improving the level of health services and medical education in Egypt.

The meeting witnessed the presentation of many ideas and proposals within the framework of the endeavor to develop medical education and provide the highest quality standards in medical training for Egyptian doctors.

His Excellency the Ambassador also expressed his great interest in the French dual programs offered by Ain Shams University, expressing his desire to visit these programs in the near future.

   
   

He also expressed his aspiration to enhance areas of academic cooperation between French universities and their Egyptian counterparts, suggesting increasing the number of specializations covered by these partnerships.

Both sides expressed their aspiration to translate the proposed ideas into realistic projects that contribute to enhancing medical cooperation between the two parties, thus contributing to raising the level of health care in Egypt and developing scientific research in the medical fields.

This visit represents Ain Shams University's commitment to providing everything new in the field of medical education to graduate medical cadres with the highest level of efficiency and skill.
