The Student Union and the “For Egypt” family welcomed new students during the weeks preceding the study, emphasizing their role in supporting students and helping them adapt to university life. They also emphasized having a plan to organize various activities during the academic year, including sports, cultural, and social events that aim to enhance the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among students, in addition to providing opportunities to develop personal and academic skills. These activities come within the Union’s vision of creating an interactive university environment full of opportunities for growth and development.
In a move to provide a distinctive digital educational experience, the college has created official email accounts for new students, which have several features, including a high degree of security and a large storage capacity to keep important files in a safe place.
Students can retrieve these files at any time and from any device connected to the Internet, in addition to the ability to download 5 original copies of the Microsoft Office 365 package, which provides students with the necessary tools to work and study effectively.
In addition, the faculty has created student accounts on the University Smart Platform (UMS), which enables students to register for available courses at the beginning of each semester, communicate with their academic advisors, and request various electronic services. The platform also allows for requesting services electronically. The platform also displays exam results, semester GPA, and cumulative CGPA.
The college also created student accounts on the e-learning platform (ASU2LEARN), which provides them with an asynchronous learning experience by uploading the scientific material for each course onto the pages of the electronic courses. The educational materials include presentations and videos of online lectures, experiments and virtual slides that support the topics of the courses, in addition to formative assessment tools such as assignments and tests. The platform also provides means for discussion and communication with students through discussion forums and chat rooms. The platform also allows for electronic monitoring of student performance and interaction, through the Learning Analytics Reports feature available on each electronic course page, through which the faculty staff can monitor students' performance in the course and the extent of their interaction with each element of the scientific material. In the context of supporting e-learning, the faculty, in cooperation with the central unit for e-learning at the university, trained faculty staff on the latest skills for building electronic courses and using the ASU2LEARN platform, according to the latest updates introduced by the central unit, to ensure the provision of an interactive and advanced educational experience for students.
The training was attended by 462 faculty staff, which confirms their keenness to raise the level of the educational process.
