In an artistic evening and dazzling atmosphere, Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities, and Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the activities of the first summit forum of the Greater Cairo Universities Alliance for Music and Choir, which is the first event of its kind adopted by Ain Shams University in light of its new vision to support student activities, which hosted Cairo, Helwan and Benha Universities.
This came in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, Prof. Sayed Qandil, President of Helwan University, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University, artist Tarek El-Dessouki, artist Mohamed Tharwat, and a group of university vice presidents, deans and deputies of faculties.
In his speech, Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university presidents, the honorable guests, and the youth of Egypt, expressing his pride in being at Ain Shams University, and stressed the ministry's keenness to involve students in major national events, enhance their sense of belonging and responsibility, and support their artistic capabilities. He also congratulated the students on their new and constructive ideas, and praised the new alliances that were formed and supported by the university presidents. He also expressed his deep appreciation for hosting major universities at Ain Shams University, stressing that this hosting has a great impact on continuous and permanent cooperation and communication.
During his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed the honorable attendees, expressing his happiness to host the first summit forum of the Greater Cairo Universities Alliance for Music and Choir, noting that the forum reflects the spirit of cooperation and creativity that we aim to enhance between different universities.
The President of Ain Shams University added that the Greater Cairo Universities Forum is not just an artistic and cultural event, but rather a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, and an opportunity to develop student talents in the field of music and choir, pointing out the university’s belief that the arts play a vital role in shaping the cultural identity of our societies, and that enhancing cooperation between higher education institutions in this field contributes to creating a vibrant artistic environment. His Excellency also called on all participants to make the most of this alliance and for it to be an annual tradition that always brings together the most prestigious Egyptian universities.
The ceremony, which lasted for about four hours, witnessed artistic shows of music and choral performances from the participating universities, which varied between national medleys and individual and group songs.
