In line with Ain Shams University’s commitment to support and encourage faculty staff to compete for academic and research awards, and in recognition of outstanding efforts in scientific research, Dr. Abeer Sayed Fareed from the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Education received Prof. Latifa Al-Houti Award for Best Single Research by an Assistant Professor in Physics for the year 2023.
Dr. Naglaa Mostafa Mohamed Ismail from the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Women also received the Prof. Hussein Abu Layla Award for Best Single Research by a Lecturer in the same field for the same year.
The awards were approved by the University Council on July 29, 2024, reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and encouraging researchers to contribute groundbreaking work in various scientific fields.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abdeen, the university president, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the University’s Awards Office congratulated the winners, emphasizing the university's ongoing support for young researchers and award recipients, motivating them to present distinguished research that contributes to the development of science and knowledge.
Dr. Abeer’s research is significant for its analysis of the properties of glassy materials using the DTA method, contributing to a better understanding of crystallization dynamics and the development of new applications in electronics and advanced materials.
Dr. Naglaa’s research highlights the potential of the Heglig fruit as a treatment for diabetes, shedding light on its biophysical properties and positive effects on red blood cells. This research represents an important step towards promoting the use of medicinal plants in treatment, opening new avenues for research in the prevention of chronic diseases and improving quality of life.
