In celebration of the October victories, Ain Shams University hosts the 70th cultural symposium for the Popular and Military Defense Forces

As part of the educational seminars organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces of the Armed Forces in Egyptian universities and institutes, and in conjunction with the celebration of the 51st anniversary of the glorious October victories, a grand celebration and educational seminar were held in the Grand Hall of Ain Shams University to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the October victories, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces in Egyptian universities. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Major General Usama Abdel Hamid Dawoud, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, with the attendance of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, and several faculty members and students. The event was coordinated, executed, and supervised by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, represented by the Artistic Activity Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.

The celebration included the 70th educational seminar to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the glorious October victories, organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces in cooperation with Ain Shams University. It aimed to instill the spirit of loyalty and patriotism and raise awareness among university students about the heroic sacrifices of the Armed Forces during the October War.

In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, welcomed the attendees to this educational seminar that honors one of the most prominent historical moments in the nation's journey—the glorious October victories—where the Egyptian Armed Forces scripted a heroic epic, symbolizing dignity and pride, by regaining land and restoring hope after years of occupation.

He emphasized that the commemoration of the October War victories will remain a shining point in Egypt's history of heroism, passed down through generations, bearing witness to the strength and will of the great Egyptian army. It serves as a lesson in patriotism, love for the homeland, and the sacrifice for the sake of God and the nation.

The President of Ain Shams University added that the October victories were not just military operations but a manifestation of the will of the people and the determination of heroes who sacrificed their lives to reclaim their rights and lands.

He further noted that under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt has witnessed significant developments, achieving economic progress, making tangible efforts in infrastructure, and enhancing political stability. Additionally, Egypt has seen improvements in health, education, and counter-terrorism efforts, which are integral to Egypt's journey toward the future.

He also called on students to do their utmost to embody the spirit of the October victory within themselves and always be up to the responsibility they bear, as they carry the name of Egypt.

Major General Osama Abdel Hamid Dawoud, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, began his speech by conveying the greetings of General Abdel Maged Sakr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

He expressed his pleasure at being at Ain Shams University, a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment. He pointed out that Egypt has become more stable and its capabilities have developed through the efforts of its loyal sons, having faced challenges, crises, and threats with courage. Egypt confronted poisonous ideas and external conspiracies, which continue to lurk in the shadows. This reflects the enlightened vision of our political leadership in dealing with various issues and its wisdom in managing the country's affairs to safeguard Egypt's security, stability, and developmental progress.

He stressed that anyone who thinks of harming Egypt's land is delusional. With the determination and strength of the Armed Forces and the will of the great Egyptian people, Egypt has eradicated terrorism and will remain, with God’s protection, safe and secure.

The primary goal of organizing these seminars, he added, is to confront ideas with ideas and to protect all segments of Egyptian society, especially the youth, from false and destructive ideologies. This is done through correct understanding and true awareness of all the risks and threats to Egyptian national security on all strategic fronts. All fronts are threatened, and the situation in the surrounding region is unstable, which increases the threats against Egypt. Therefore, it is necessary for all of us to have full awareness of our national interests and to recognize the great efforts that the Egyptian state is making in various fields, both internally and externally.

The celebration included various activities, such as artistic performances by the Ain Shams University choir, a lecture by Dr. Ghada Amer, former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Misr University for Science and Technology, titled "The Role of Technology in Modern Wars Waged on Our Region," and a lecture by Sheikh Yousry Azzam, Imam of the Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque and lecturer at Nasser Military Academy, titled "The Status of Egypt in the Qur'an and Sunnah." The event also honored the families of martyrs and people with special needs, screened documentary films about Ain Shams University and the Popular and Military Defense Forces, and concluded with the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
