Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, inaugurated the activities of the third and new edition of Ain Shams University Career Week "ASU Career Week 2024", which is organized by the university's ASU Career Center affiliated with the Innovation and Training Sector over five days under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Nevin Assem, Head of the Innovation and Training Sector, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the ASU Career Center.
The opening of this important employment event dedicated to Ain Shams University students and graduates was attended by Prof. Hossam El-Sherif, Vice President of the Leadership Development Institute, on behalf of Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Preparation Institute, and a number of deans and vice deans of faculties and representatives of participating local and international companies and institutions.
In her speech, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stressed that the university pays great attention to the issue of employment, and seeks to bridge the gaps and achieve integration between the skills of students and graduates and the needs of the labor market, in order to ensure the graduation of distinguished students capable of competing strongly. She stressed that employment is the primary goal of university students, and is an important criterion for international university classification.
She added that the university is constantly seeking to study the changing requirements of the labor market with the aim of developing the skills of the university's students and graduates to maintain their distinguished position in the labor market.
In a speech by Prof. Hossam El-Sherif, Deputy Director of the Leadership Development Institute, on behalf of Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Development Institute, he conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ayman Ashour, and Prof. Karim Hammam, expressing his happiness to be present today at this distinguished forum at a prestigious university such as Ain Shams University, which always seeks excellence and sustainability.
He stressed that the axis of employment and professional development is one of the most important strategic pillars in higher education, as it contributes effectively to enhancing students' readiness for the labor market, and helps in developing their professional capabilities in line with the requirements of the accelerating era.
Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of the Alumni Association, stressed the pivotal role of the association as a key partner of the Employment Center in all its activities, pointing to the role of the association in enhancing communication and connection between graduates and the university, through many activities, pointing to the role of the association in studying the needs of the labor market and developing the skills of graduates and providing them with job opportunities, which enhances the reputation of Ain Shams University locally, regionally and internationally, and contributes to raising its classification.
She also reviewed the range of services provided by the association to its members since its establishment.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the ASU Career Center, explained that the third ASU Career Week at Ain Shams University aims to support distinguished students and graduates from the university by enhancing communication opportunities with major companies, whether local or international, in addition to giving participants the opportunity to conduct direct personal interviews with senior recruitment officials in major companies. The week represents an integrated experience that enables students and graduates to come up with real and serious job opportunities that meet their professional ambitions.
He added that the preparations for the week's activities continued for two full months, and a training program was developed for the volunteer students participating in the event, in addition to a major advertising campaign to reach the targeted audience.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz pointed out that 36 companies and 6 partners are participating in the week's activities, and 45 activities will be organized during it, and more than a thousand job opportunities and training opportunities will be provided for students and graduates.
It is worth noting that the ASU Career week activities are divided into two parts. The first part includes a job fair with the participation of a large number of companies and will be held over the days of October 20, 21, and 22, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm, at the ASU Career Center headquarters, inside the university dormitory in Abbassia.
The events will include professional dialogues, career guidance circles, job and training opportunities, in addition to building relationships with the most prominent employers in the employment market. The first day will be allocated to students and graduates of the Faculties of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, the second day to the Faculty of Business, and the third day to the Faculties of Al-Alsun, Arts, Law, and Education.
The second part of the event, called “Open Recruitment Days,” will include immediate initial interviews with companies and introductory sessions over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, October 23 and 24, 2024, from 9 am to 4 pm, at the ASU Career Center headquarters. With the participation of the event’s strategic partner in addition to the main partners.
Wednesday will be allocated to the faculties of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, and Thursday to the faculties of Business, Al-Alsun, Arts, Law, and Education.
To participate in the open recruitment days, you must participate in the employment fair and reserve a place in advance through the organizers present at the ASU Career center pavilion.
