Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the university participated in the activities of the 7th conference of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, under the slogan "Quality of Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence".
The conference activities were attended by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. The participation came as an affirmation of the university's pioneering role in spreading the culture of quality and academic excellence.
Prof. Miriam Ayad, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the university, and a number of directors of quality units in the faculties, as well as a group of faculty staff, deans and vice deans of faculties, and distinguished university students, also participated in the attendance and sessions.
This came within the framework of Ain Shams University administration's keenness to participate effectively in all important events, especially those that contribute to developing the educational process and ensuring quality, believing in the importance of adhering to the highest standards of university education.
The 7th conference of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education was held this year during the period from November 2 to 4, 2024, under the auspices of the Council of Ministers.
The conference was chaired by Prof. Alaa Ashmawy, Chairman of the Authority, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, representing Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, and Dr. Mohamed Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, representing His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb.
Prof. Ghada Farouk also participated in a panel discussion within the conference entitled “The Role of Education Leaders in Affirming the Value of Quality Assurance”, in the presence of a number of prominent leaders in the field of education, including Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities and former Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the former People’s Assembly, and Prof. Johansen Eid, former President of the Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Maha Rashwan, Professor at Nile University.
In her speech, Prof. Ghada Farouk stressed the pivotal role played by Egyptian universities, especially Ain Shams University, in keeping pace with technological developments to face the challenges of increasing student numbers, and the impact of technology in ensuring the quality of education and overcoming the difficulties of providing sufficient spaces for students, while ensuring the efficiency of the educational process.
She also pointed out the university's interest in developing its students' skills in the field of technology in line with the requirements of the labor market and future jobs in the age of robotics and artificial intelligence.
She cited some of the university’s achievements, such as winning first place in the global electric car rally, and its contribution to localizing the electric car industry, in addition to providing ongoing training programs aimed at qualifying graduates capable of working efficiently in this advanced field.
These initiatives come as part of the university's mission to keep pace with modern developments in technology, and to improve the quality of education and scientific research at all levels.
