Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the university began on Thursday at nine o'clock in the morning to open the door for nominations, withdrawal and submission of forms for student union elections in the various faculties of the university, according to the timetable approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The President of Ain Shams University had assigned the Education and Students Sector at the university to form a central committee to follow up on the progress of the student union elections in their various stages, and sub-committees in the faculties to follow up and supervise the elections and overcome the obstacles facing students, and announce the preliminary lists on November 17, receive appeals on November 18, and examine the appeals on November 19. The final lists will be announced on November 20, and the election campaign will begin on November 21. The first round of elections will be held in the faculties, and the sorting and announcement of the results will be on November 24. The second round will be on November 25, then the elections for the committee secretaries and their assistants will be held at the college level on November 26, and the elections for the union president and his deputy will be held at the college level on November 27, so that the student elections will end with the election of the committee secretaries and their assistants and the president and vice president of the university union on November 28, 2024.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, had previously decided to form the Supreme Committee to supervise the elections of student unions at the university for the academic year 2024/2025, headed by His Excellency, and the general supervision of Prof. Dr. Taie Abdel Latif Taha - Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Agriculture, legal membership for Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali Abdel-Hay Ibrahim Dihoum - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and general administrative coordination by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza - Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Students Sector, Ms. Asmaa Ali Abdo Khater - Director General of Youth Care, Technical Member, Ms. Riyad Salah Abdel Fattah Al-Awam - Director of the Department of Families and Unions Student Communication Officer and Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abu El-Azm - Office of the Vice President for Education and Students Administrative Member and Membership of each of the student Ahmed Ramadan Mohamed Omar Youssef - Fourth Year, Faculty of Commerce and student Mahmoud Mohamed El-Sayed - Fourth Year, Faculty of Education
It is worth noting that the student elections are held in accordance with Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2523 of 2017, amending some provisions of the executive regulations of the Universities Regulation Law, issued by Law No. 49 of 1972, as well as the financial and administrative regulations of student unions in universities issued by Ministerial Decree No. 352 of 2019.
