The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University launched a comprehensive development convoy to serve the residents of Al-Asmarat neighborhood, within the framework of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development" in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and in cooperation with Cairo Governorate.
This comes under the auspices of Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the coordination of Prof. Hala Samir Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and the general supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Prof. Ghada Farouk explained that the comprehensive development convoy of Al-Asmarat comes within a series of development convoys organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector within the university's strategy to provide the best medical, pharmaceutical and awareness services, in accordance with the distinguished expertise that the university abounds with.
She pointed out the sector's plan to launch many comprehensive development convoys during the presidential initiative "Beginning" to serve the various governorates of the republic.
The convoys are divided into convoys that continue to provide their services for several consecutive days, such as the convoys that serve the people of "Halayeb, Shalateen, Abu Ramad, Sohag Governorate, and Qena Governorate", and the one-day convoys that provide their services to the people of the neediest areas in Greater Cairo, such as the Ahalina, Asmarat, and Mahrousa convoys, and others.
A number of university faculties participate in implementing the Asmarat convoy: "Medicine - Pharmacy - Nursing - Dentistry - Special Education and Archaeology and Postgraduate Childhood Studies and the Adult Education Center and the Center for Combating Violence Against Women at the University and the National Council for Women, Cairo Branch and the Red Crescent Society."
The convoy's activities included a medical axis that included ten clinics in various specialties and a pharmacy that provides its pharmaceutical services for free.
The awareness axis included a number of awareness seminars for the people of the area and their children and an art workshop for children.
