April 15 "Visions of Change: New Trends in Literature, Language and Translation" The 11th Scientific Forum for Young Researchers at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

The Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, is organizing the 11th Scientific Forum for Young Researchers under the title: "Visions of Change: New Trends in Literature, Language and Translation", during April 15-16, 2025, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research.

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, explained that the forum includes several axes covering various research fields in language, literature and translation. In the field of literary studies, it addresses the impact of social and political transformations and technological applications on the topics of modern literature, the role of artificial intelligence in creating literary content, the possibility of generating literary texts by machines, the role of literature in preserving cultural identity, the impact of social media on literary language, and the analysis of digital literary texts and their impact on the reader.

At the linguistics level, the forum discusses the development of vocabulary and linguistic theories in the age of artificial intelligence, digital lexicographic studies, the future of foreign language learning in light of digital transformations, the role of cultural institutions in preserving linguistic heritage, the impact of migration on languages, the change of hybrid languages, and argumentation methods and their use in presenting and addressing contemporary political and social issues.

In the field of translation studies, this year’s forum will address the impact of artificial intelligence on the translation industry, machine translation tools, the future of the human translator, the challenges of preparing freelance and simultaneous translators in light of digital transformations, marketing translation and content creation, automatic processing of the Arabic language, major national projects and the role of translation in localizing their terms (localizing the nuclear energy industry, localizing the automobile industry, etc.), and the cognitive and perceptual aspects of oral translation.

Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, explained the regulations for participation in the 11th session of the Young Researchers Forum, scheduled to be held on April 15-16, 2025, as follows:

1- You can participate in the forum with a research paper, intervention, poster or presentation.

2- It is necessary that the participation is related to one of the forum's themes and topics.

3- Research abstracts are accepted in Arabic and the research is submitted for publication in the language of specialization.

4- The abstract of the research paper is sent to the email: Research.forum@alsun.asu.edu.eg until April 1, 2025.

5- The abstract does not exceed 500 words.

6- The intervention in the forum does not exceed 20 minutes.

7- The research submitted to the forum is published after being refereed in the Philology Journal issued by the faculty, which is a refereed scientific journal listed in the Arabic index of the WOS database.
