Within the framework of the Presidential initiative "Bidaya" and the joint and fruitful cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Electronic Fatwa Center at Al-Azhar, and in continuation of the series of awareness symposia organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University, a symposium entitled "Strengthening National Identity and Supporting the Values and Ethics System" was held at the Faculty of Girls, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls .
The symposium was opened by Prof. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Girls for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in the presence of Dr. Tharwat Abdel Latif, a member of the Al-Azhar World Center for Electronic Fatwa.
In her speech, Prof. Heba Barakat stressed that symposium comes within the framework of the pioneering role of the Faculty of Girls in serving the community and developing the environment, and in the belief in the importance of the role played by education in building the individual and society, noting that preserving and strengthening the national identity represents the cornerstone in building future generations, and that it is not an individual responsibility but a collective duty that requires the cooperation of educational, religious and cultural institutions.
For his part, Dr. Tharwat Abdel Latif expressed his happiness to be present at the prestigious Ain Shams University, especially within the Faculty of Girls. At the beginning, he introduced the Al-Azhar World Center for Electronic Fatwa, an institution affiliated with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif that aims to provide legal fatwas via the Internet. The center was established in 2016, and it is one of the most prominent Islamic centers that seeks to use technology in the service of the Islamic religion and answer the inquiries of Muslims in various parts of the world. It seeks to be a reliable Islamic reference for Muslims everywhere, to meet their religious needs in light of contemporary technological changes in accordance with the teachings of Islamic law, which helps Muslims to coexist peacefully with modern life developments, spread correct religious awareness among Muslims, and correct misconceptions, especially those that may spread via the Internet or the media, he also spoke about the importance of believing in human life in strengthening national identity and supporting the system of values and ethics in building sustainable societies by including national and ethical values in school curricula to educate future generations to respect their cultural and historical heritage and promote the values of cooperation, responsibility, and belonging through the media and awareness programs to highlight local culture, traditions, and national history, while highlighting successful stories that reflect national values and principles, and encouraging community participation through events that bring together individuals of different ages and backgrounds to enhance social cohesion and national awareness, and encourage young people to participate effectively in political and social life, and enhancing the trend towards building a stable state, in addition to using modern technologies to spread national culture through social media platforms and websites that support national identity and promote moral values in an innovative and attractive way by creating an environment that enhances national identity and preserves values and morals that form the basis for building advanced societies.
