As part of Ain Shams University's keenness to spread awareness of the sustainable development system and achieve its goals in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at the university organized an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Dentistry, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Walaa Mohamed Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Zainab Mahmoud Hindi, Deputy Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability, and a group of employees.
The seminar discussed important issues such as global warming, climate change, and the importance of measuring the water footprint and carbon footprint. The focus was also on rationalizing energy and water consumption to improve efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The symposium witnessed constructive discussions and dialogues with the attendees, where the importance of the role of individuals in rationalizing the consumption of natural resources and its positive impact on the environment was clarified.
