The Faculty of Dentistry celebrates the graduation of the 23rd batch of Bachelor of Oral and Dental Medicine

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the Faculty of Dentistry’s celebration of the graduation of the 23rd batch of Bachelor of Oral and Dental Medicine, and the 5th batch of the Clinical Dentistry Program with the credit hour system, in the presence of Prof. Ehab Heikal, Head of the Dentists Syndicate, Prof. Geraldeen Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Cairo University, Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dalia El-Qurashi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Reham Magdy Emam, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Reem El-Kabariti, Director of Alumni Associations.

         
   
         

In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed the attendees, extending his greetings to the parents who have made great efforts for many years. He also thanked faculty staff and teaching assistants for their efforts with the students throughout their studies.

His Excellency explained that this batch is the 24th for the Faculty of Dentistry, at Ain Shams University, noting that this number may seem small compared to many of its counterparts, but here comes the distinction of the Faculty of Dentistry. Despite its young age compared to its counterparts, it has been able, during this short period, to prepare a graduate at the highest level who is able to be a useful member of the healthcare system in Egypt; pointing out that the Faculty of Dentistry, at Ain Shams University, is an experience worthy of study.

         
   
         

His Excellency addressed the students saying that this is the beginning of a new phase and not the end; the real test is the coming period which requires the continuation of education and learning without a maximum limit, so scientific appetite must continue, explaining that the profession of dentistry is a long but enjoyable journey, advising the graduates not to be carried away by what is being raised on social media, as you are dentists and not just cosmetic experts, but in a way that suits the patient and according to scientific principles, practices and standards.

         
   
         

Prof. Ihab Heikal, the head of the Dentists Syndicate, pointed out that there is ongoing cooperation between the Dentists Syndicate and the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, explaining that the time for education has ended and the time for learning has begun, pointing out the necessity for students to keep up with medical sciences through postgraduate studies, as dentistry is a very advanced science that requires continuous increase in medical sciences, while the other side is the development of various skills.

Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, stressed that the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University is the sanctuary of knowledge, ethics and achievement. The faculty has a long history of achievements in a relatively limited time, pointing out that the faculty is always keen to provide a good environment for teaching and learning, according to the latest international standards, which led to it obtaining international accreditation from the German AQAS organization.

         
   
         

Prof. Karim El-Batouti expressed his pride and happiness with the students, wishing them all the best in their journey that requires continuous study and effort, pointing out that the graduate of Ain Shams Dental is a competent graduate locally and globally, which was evident during the professional practice exam, which is responsible for granting the license to practice the profession, which will be renewed every five years, according to educational and training activities in order to renew the license, in addition to the necessity of having the necessary qualification to obtain the title of specialist or consultant.

Prof. Reham Magdy, the faculty’s vice dean for education and student affairs, pointed out that graduation day is not just a celebration, but a testimony to success and excellence as a result of years of effort and continuous work. Today, graduates reap the fruits of their efforts and begin a new journey in their professional lives, carrying the name of the faculty and the university with its values ​​and principles, as ambassadors for them everywhere.

Pointing out that the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University obtaining international accreditation is clear evidence of its excellence in providing medical education in the field of dentistry according to the highest quality standards, as well as the faculty 's commitment to always providing the best to provide distinguished doctors who have obtained the highest level of scientific and practical training and qualification, which is the latest in the field of dentistry.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of Alumni Associations, also pointed out the role of the Alumni Association in communicating with students, especially after graduation, as the association cooperates with the faculty in conferences and workshops, and alumni meetings with pioneers of each faculty, which develops a sense of loyalty and belonging among graduates to the university.

She explained that the Alumni Association allows graduates to participate in forums, exhibitions and employment meetings to qualify graduates for the labor market through free courses in cooperation with the university's ASU Career center, in addition to many recreational activities, noting that free membership cards have been issued to graduates that provide many different services to organizations and companies, noting that communication with the Alumni Association is available on various social media sites.

The ceremony witnessed the graduation of 230 male and female students, in addition to faculty staff who obtained master's and doctorate degrees.
