As part of the initiative launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for human development, "A New Beginning for Building the Human Being," aimed at improving citizens' quality of life through various programs focusing on education, health, and sports, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abidine, President of Ain Shams University, the "100 Days of Sports Initiative" for university students has been launched. This initiative represents an important step towards enhancing students' physical and mental health, while also offering them opportunities to develop their personal and social skills through participation in sports activities.
In this context, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, emphasized that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's human development initiative, "A New Beginning for Building the Human Being," is a pivotal step towards improving students' physical and mental well-being. He highlighted the significance of sports as an essential element in young people's lives, contributing to the development of their personal and social skills. He noted that providing a stimulating sports environment reflects the university's commitment to offering top-tier educational and developmental services, fostering a spirit of cooperation and fair competition among students. He added that the university is not just a place for study but also a hub for shaping students' personalities and identities.
The initiative at Ain Shams University is being organized through the Education and Student Affairs Sector, under the supervision of the Sports Activity Department of the General Administration for Youth Welfare. It will run throughout December, featuring a student festival with recreational games, table tennis for both able-bodied students and students with disabilities, football for male students, volleyball for both male and female students, and goalball for visually impaired students.
