Within the framework of enhancing health awareness and providing community support, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University organized the second symposium of the cultural season for the academic year 2024/2025, under the title "Multiple Sclerosis: A Disease of the Youth".
This came under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Rola Milad Labib, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The symposium hosted Prof. Rehab Nabil Shamma, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Cairo University, who gave a comprehensive lecture on the importance of raising awareness about multiple sclerosis, highlighting its early symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis to ensure a more stable life for patients.
During the symposium, one of the patients spoke about her experience of living with the disease and presented different ways on how to adapt to multiple sclerosis. She also discussed practical ways to adopt healthy diets and methods that help patients face the daily challenges associated with the disease.
The symposium contributes to providing purposeful messages in serving the community and providing platforms for discussion and awareness on urgent health issues, which enhances the values of giving and solidarity among members of society.
