The Vice President of Ain Shams University Receives a delegation of USAID

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University, welcomed Dr. Ehab Abdullah, Director of the University Scholarships Program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) at the American University in Cairo, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting aimed to explore avenues of cooperation and identify future collaboration opportunities between USAID activities and Ain Shams University.

Dr. Ghada Farouk emphasized the importance of international collaboration in achieving developmental goals. She affirmed Ain Shams University's readiness to provide support and actively contribute to future projects. The university is committed to delivering comprehensive educational services and is distinguished not only as an academic institution but also for its active participation in innovation and creativity competitions.

         
   
         

During the meeting, ongoing research projects at Ain Shams University were reviewed, alongside ways to strengthen partnerships with USAID in areas such as education and sustainable development. Discussions also focused on leveraging mutual expertise to enhance research and applied capabilities in fields of common interest.

Prof. Ghada Farouk highlighted the active involvement of scholarship students in university activities, including their participation in the student union this year and other student programs.

Dr. Ehab Abdullah expressed his gratitude to Ain Shams University for its unwavering support of students. He explained that the Leaders and Scholars of Egypt program aims to provide scholarships for undergraduate studies in several public and private Egyptian universities, including Ain Shams University, which is one of 10 universities that have benefited from the program. He noted that the program not only emphasizes academic studies but also focuses on enhancing English language skills, entrepreneurship, and leadership development, while offering employment opportunities.

         
   
         

The program seeks to build the capacities of Egyptian professionals and expand opportunities for Egyptian students to access higher education, particularly in faculties and disciplines offering credit-hour-based programs and English-language instruction. Additionally, it aims to equip students with exceptional academic potential to access broader opportunities in higher education and meet the requirements of the labor market in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mohamed El-Banna, Professor at Ain Shams University's Faculty of Engineering and Deputy Director of International Programs for Student Affairs; and Ms. Reham El-Ottefy, Director General of the Student Affairs Administration.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with scholarship students to review their achievements, track their progress, and discuss their participation in international competitions and community service activities.
