As part of Ain Shams University's ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and encourage academic excellence, the University Awards Office organized an introductory symposium at the Faculty of Girls on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to introduce the mechanisms and conditions for applying for the university's awards and state awards.
This event is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls.
The symposium hosted Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim Farag, Supervisor of the University Awards Office, and Mr. Emad Abdel Tawab, Director General of the General Administration of Scientific Research, in the presence of a number of faculty staff and teaching assistants from the faculty.
The symposium focused on introducing the attendees to the role of the Awards Office in enhancing the opportunities for faculty staff to apply for academic and scientific awards. The conditions and mechanisms for nomination were explained, with an explanation of the importance of the justifications for submission and the foundations for preparing nomination files, in addition to shedding light on the scientific achievements that qualify for winning awards. The method of documenting scientific research, academic publications, and various contributions that highlight excellence in various research fields was also reviewed.
The symposium also discussed the importance of scientific awards in supporting scientific research and recognizing outstanding contributions in various fields.
The speakers stressed that these awards represent a true appreciation for researchers' achievements and contribute to enhancing the university's position locally and internationally.
