In the context of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Building the Individual" and as part of the series of awareness seminars organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University, in collaboration with the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa, the Faculty of Specific Education at the university hosted a seminar titled "Enhancing National Identity and Supporting the System of Values and Ethics."
This event was held under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. Osama El-Sayed explained that the seminar forms part of the university's active efforts to participate in the dissemination and cultivation of cultural and intellectual awareness among its students, highlighting the pivotal role of higher education in shaping the consciousness of youth and contributing to the preservation and development of their national and societal identity.
Dr. Mohamed Kandil, a member of the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, delivered a lecture at the seminar, where he addressed a range of correct concepts regarding national identity and the ways to preserve it. He emphasized that the family is the cornerstone of this identity and plays a crucial role in developing ethics and values.
Dr. Kandil also highlighted the influential role of Al-Azhar in Egyptian society, particularly in reinforcing national belonging among the youth. He discussed strategies for countering rumors and erroneous ideologies, guiding young people to seek information from reliable sources, and combating extremist views spread through social media platforms.
