Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty, organized a symposium entitled "Language, Artificial Intelligence and Diplomatic Work", under the patronage of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Yomna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hassanein Fahmy, Acting Head of the Chinese Language Department, during which it hosted Mr. Mohamed Taher Badr, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Secretary General of the Ministry, and one of the most prominent graduates of the Chinese Language Department.
The symposium was opened by Prof. Yumna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stressed the importance of this type of meetings between college students and prominent graduates, as this contributes to motivating students, raising their awareness and enriching their experiences by sharing distinguished experiences with them.
While Prof. Dr. Hassanein Fahmy, Acting Head of the Chinese Language Department, stressed that the department aims to enhance students' knowledge and qualify them for the labor market and direct them to job opportunities and jobs by interacting with the department's prestigious graduates and hosting them in seminars that benefit students.
The guest, Minister Plenipotentiary Mohamed Taher Badr, spoke, in which he expressed his great happiness with the participation of the department's professors and students in this event. His speech included several important points that he addressed to the students, how a student can take advantage of the university study period and advance himself scientifically, socially and psychologically, and have a flexible and persevering mentality despite obstacles, and from here opportunities come and the journey of success begins.
He stressed the importance of the human element as a valuable resource, as a successful person is an active person in his family and society and thus he is a cog in the wheel of development of the entire nation.
Pointing out the role that artificial intelligence currently plays in all fields, which in return requires that the human element strive to continuously improve its skills and experiences so that it can play an effective role with the help of technological progress, and find a place for itself in the future.
The students interacted with the guest's speech and asked a number of questions that the guest responded to, the most prominent of which was the importance of studying languages and their impact on the individual and society.
His Excellency explained to the students based on his practical experience that the role that the department's graduate will play in the future in promoting the development of relations between Egypt and China is very important, as the translator is the bridge of communication between his homeland and the other, and history confirms that the renaissance of nations was accompanied by the renaissance of the translation movement, openness and communication between different cultures.
