The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University continued the cultural season activities for the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025, where the fourth lecture was held entitled "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People".
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and under the supervision of Pro. The lecture was presented by Prof. Dina Hamada Qassem, Head of the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, where she discussed the book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey, explaining the division of habits into three main sections. The first section deals with independence or self-control, and includes the shift from external dependence to internal dependence through habits such as initiative, keeping the goal in mind, and starting with the most important before the important.
The second section focused on interdependence and teamwork, addressing the habits of thinking in terms of win-win, seeking to understand others before trying to understand them, and synergizing to achieve common goals.
The third section focused on continuous improvement through habits such as stopping work or routine activity and taking time to develop oneself, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, with balance and periodic renewal to maintain our productivity and vitality.
The lecture witnessed a distinguished attendance of students and faculty members who interacted with discussions on how to apply these habits in daily and professional life to achieve excellence.
The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of self-development and leadership skills to enhance individual and group performance alike.
