The Faculty of Mass Communication organizes a workshop to raise health awareness among its members

Under the auspices of Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Prof. Salwa Suleiman, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, a workshop was held under the title: "The ABCs of Dealing with Common Health Crises", within the framework of the activities of the Crisis and Disasters Unit at the Faculty, coordinated by: Dr. Samar Sabry, and Dr. Sherine Al-Iraqi, Lecturers at the Media Production Department; with the aim of raising students' awareness of how to deal with emergency health events that they may encounter.

Dr. Salwa Mahmoud, a fellow at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital and a senior nursing specialist at the hospital, lectured at the workshop, in a meeting that included: faculty staff, teaching assistants, administrators, and

students. The discussions were interactive among the attendees, and many inquiries were answered.

The workshop included several topics including first aid, dealing with fractures, convulsions, fainting, and nosebleeds, as well as correcting the most common incorrect methods when providing first aid, which may harm the injured person, instead of helping him.

The meeting also included an introduction to how to invest the simplest tools available in the surrounding environment to make quick medical supplies available, until specialized medical assistance is provided to the injured person.

The meeting activities concluded with Prof. Heba Shaheen honoring Dr. Salwa Mahmoud, in appreciation of her role in developing health awareness among faculty members.
