Recommendations of the 20th Conference of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, the 20th Conference of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Burns, and Maxillofacial Surgery, was held over December 18–19, 2024.

The conference witnessed notable attendance from distinguished professors and young plastic surgeons from all Egyptian universities, the Ministry of Health, and military hospitals. This gathering aimed to foster communication and exchange expertise among various medical professionals, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services. The conference covered specialized topics, notably ear reconstruction surgeries and rhinoplasty.

In his speech, Prof. Ali El-Anwar expressed his deep appreciation for the department's professors and commended its members' performance, emphasizing the university's commitment to supporting medical excellence.

Prof. Tarek Youssef highlighted the ongoing support and development efforts in the Department of Plastic Surgery, particularly in the fields of the Burn Unit and Laser Unit.

Prof. Ahmed Ali Hassan, Head of the Plastic Surgery Department and Conference President, welcomed the attendees and praised the significant role of conferences in fostering scientific communication and enhancing the skills of young doctors.

At the conclusion of the opening session, Prof. Ahmed Ali Hassan presented the conference shield to Prof. Ali El-Anwar and Prof. Tarek Youssef, in recognition of their outstanding contributions and efforts in supporting and developing the department.

The conference recommended continuing to organize workshops to train young plastic surgeons in ear reconstruction and rhinoplasty surgeries, as well as on the proper use of surgical instruments and equipment.
