Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, and Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Specialized Medical Centers Secretariat and the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University. The agreement aims to achieve integration between the Ministry of Health's entities and the expertise of Egyptian universities, enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
The protocol was signed by Prof. Kareem El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Maha Ibrahim, Head of the Specialized Medical Centers Secretariat.
Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with Egyptian universities to leverage their academic and training capabilities in the healthcare field. He emphasized that this collaboration will contribute to advancing medical services, scientific research, and improving the competencies of medical and technical staff, reflecting positively on the quality of healthcare services offered at ministry-affiliated centers and hospitals.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa praised the Ministry of Health’s efforts to improve citizens' quality of life, noting that establishing and developing specialized medical centers demonstrates the ministry's commitment to equipping facilities with the necessary tools to provide comprehensive medical services.
He reaffirmed Ain Shams University's dedication to upholding Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the university's strategy to deliver world-class healthcare through its medical faculties.
Prof. Kareem El-Batouty explained that the agreement involves faculty members and teaching staff supervising a distinguished medical center under the Ministry of Health. This partnership, which includes collaborations with local and international entities such as EgiMed for dental implants and Zaka Med for AI, opens diverse expertise opportunities for faculty while enhancing patient care.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, noted that the protocol aims to improve healthcare quality by deploying specialized faculty from Ain Shams University at the Zahraa Nasr City Dental Center. This includes participation in morning and evening clinics, inpatient care, ICUs, and emergency units. The agreement also includes training courses and workshops for center staff, prioritizing young resident doctors for enrollment in the university's postgraduate programs.
The protocol allows contracting faculty members across academic ranks to provide specialized dental services and train center doctors, ensuring the transfer of advanced knowledge. The center will supply necessary medical equipment and resources, optimizing clinics to deliver high-quality care. Additionally, advanced dental specializations will be introduced to enhance the efficiency of services.
