The Cultural Season of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University concludes with the Tale of "Two Nobel Prizes"

The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University, concluded the cultural season activities for the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025 with a distinguished symposium entitled “A Tale of Two Nobel Prizes: Pharmacy Wins”. The symposium was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty.

         
   
         

Prof. Rania Mohamed Hathout, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty, shed light on the story of two international Nobel Prizes; the first in the field of chemistry, and the second in medicine and physiology.

She reviewed how these pioneering discoveries have been translated into innovative applications in the field of pharmacy, with a focus on advanced pharmaceutical research, the use of smart nanoparticles, and nano-immunotherapy to combat cancerous tumors.

This symposium embodies the faculty’s mission of enriching scientific awareness and linking global achievements to the development of pharmaceutical sciences, emphasizing the importance of science as a bridge that leads us towards a better future.
