Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector held its January session headed by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, in the presence of the Vice Deans of the Faculties for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the members of the Council.
Prof. Ghada Farouk began the session by congratulating the New Year and Christmas.
She also extended her thanks and appreciation to the honorable members of the Council for all their efforts during their participation in the presidential initiative "Bedaya", which included many comprehensive development convoys that covered many governorates, as well as cultural and artistic seminars, distinguished events and activities, and charitable exhibitions serving the university community, all of which were fruitful events with the efforts of a distinguished group of honorable agents and members of the esteemed Council.
In appreciation from the sector, Prof. Ghada Farouk honored Dr. Ahmed Salim, Director of the Financial Consulting Center, for the efforts made and the achievements made during his tenure as director of the center.
During the session, Prof. Ghada Farouk stressed the need to pay attention to and work on consolidating the Egyptian identity to enhance the spirit of loyalty and belonging among students and Egyptian society through the various activities and events of the sector, especially when organizing comprehensive development convoys. It is necessary to refer to the Egyptian identity of each governorate in Egypt.
She also thanked all the faculties participating in the Bedaya Initiative, as a plan was put in place since the initiative was launched for a number of development convoys that tour the various governorates of the republic in accordance with the presidential initiative, namely: “The Comprehensive Development Convoy in Cairo Governorate, Ahalina District (1) - Al Salam City, a development convoy in Shalateen - Halayeb - Abu Ramad, Red Sea Governorate, the Comprehensive Development Convoy in Sohag Governorate, the Comprehensive Development Convoy in Al Asmarat District - Cairo Governorate, and a convoy in Qena Governorate,” over a period of 100 days, starting from mid-September until the end of December 2024.
She also directed the Vice President of Ain Shams University to organize a number of diverse awareness activities as part of the Egyptian state’s efforts to combat and prevent illegal immigration, rationalize and improve various energy uses, and care for the environment.
The website for exchanging commodity inventory between the university’s faculties, prepared by the Engineering Consulting Center, was also reviewed with the aim of investing the available capabilities at the university. The method of training specialists to use the website to benefit from the goods and equipment stored within the faculties was discussed.
