The President of Ain Shams University chairs the fifth meeting of the Education and Students Sector Council for the academic year 2024-2025

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, chaired the fifth session of the Education and Student Sector Council for the academic year 2024-2025, in the presence of education vice deans, students in the faculties and members of the council.

The university president began the session by welcoming the attendees and offering congratulations on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Rajab and the new Gregorian year and the approaching holy month of Ramadan. His Excellency also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the faculty vice deans and their assistants for their efforts during the first semester exams period and His Excellency reassured the progress of the examination process from the vice deans.

The minutes of the previous session held on December 10 were also approved, as well as the minutes of the Standing Committee's session held on January 5, 2025, and its most important recommendations.

   
   
   
   

During the meeting, the speech of the AUC Chancellor was reviewed, expressing gratitude and appreciation to the university administration for its continuous support in managing the university scholarship program provided by the United States Agency for International Development, with thanks extended to the faculties hosting the scholarship (Computer and Information Sciences - Engineering - Sciences - Agriculture - Nursing).

The work regarding the project of issuing National Bank cards for university students, as well as the letter of thanks received from the National Bank for what have been accomplished, were also reviewed, were reviewed. The faculties within the system were also directed to make an announcement on their websites, and the announcement was actually made on the websites, in order to ensure that students are informed of the necessity of receiving the cards and activating them during the first semester exams.

The letter received from the Supreme Council of Universities was also briefed, stating that the Council is discussing the adoption of the general framework of the foundation year system to qualify students who have obtained the Egyptian General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent from Arab, foreign and Al-Azhar secondary certificates to join the faculties of the various education sectors in Egyptian private and national universities.

The Standing Committee was informed of the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities, with a recommendation to address the Supreme Council of Universities to send the scientific content of the curricula to the relevant faculties to begin preparing to teach them in implementation of the decision.
