The Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Under the patronage of Prof Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Howayda El-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies at Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies organized a celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which was titled “Our Children Are Our Wealth.”

During the celebration, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, expressed her happiness with the participation of her children with special needs today and extended her thanks and appreciation to those in charge of the administration of the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies, headed by Prof. Howayda El-Gebali, for the efforts made to care for Egypt’s children with special needs.

She also paid special tribute to the parents for their perseverance and efforts to support their children, which she described as sometimes exceeding limits.

She also expressed her happiness with the children’s artistic displays and praised the theatrical show City of Wonders for children with special needs, written and directed by Sherif Shams El-Din.

She stressed the keenness of Ain Shams University administration to provide continuous support to the Disability Center at the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies, which is one of the roles of Ain Shams University aimed at serving the Egyptian society.

In her speech, Prof. Howayda El-Gebali welcomed the guests and expressed her thanks and appreciation to Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, for their continuous support to the Disability Center at the Faculty. She also thanked the faculty staff and those in charge of the Disability Center at the Faculty for the efforts they exert with children with special needs, considering it a national duty.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Howayda El-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty, presented the Faculty Shield to Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, who presented it to the parents of children with special needs in appreciation of their distinguished efforts with their children. Prof. Howayda El-Gebali also honored Prof. Ahmed El-Kahki, Director of the Special Needs Care Center, Prof. Zakaria El-Dessouki, Head of the Department of Media and Children’s Culture at the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies, and Prof. Manal Omar, Professor of Psychiatry.
