The Vice President of Ain Shams University receives a delegation from the University of Strasbourg, France

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, received a delegation from the University of Strasbourg, France, headed by Prof. Irini Tsamadou Jacoberger, Vice-President for Europe and International Relations, University of Strasbourg, to discuss ways of joint cooperation.

Prof. Ghada Farouk welcomed the delegation, expressing her happiness with the increase, stressing the university administration’s keenness on the importance of developing and documenting all forms of international collaboration between the university and world universities in various fields of science and culture, and supporting the university’s capabilities and capacities globally in order to ensure that students receive a distinguished level of education that enables them to compete in local, regional and international labor markets.

During the meeting, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office, reviewed the history of Ain Shams University, its faculties and distinguished centers in all fields, including medicine, engineering, sustainable energy, and others, and the university's efforts in supporting scientific research and increasing international publishing.

She also referred to the efforts of the International Collaboration Sector in concluding and activating international agreements and partnerships with major universities in the world, and the efforts made to increase the number of international students to study at the university.

Dr. Irina Simion, Director of International Affairs, also reviewed the history of the University of Strasbourg, which is one of the largest comprehensive multilingual and multicultural universities in France, which places special emphasis on multidisciplinary curricula and is a pioneer in cross-border cooperation.

Dr. Irina Simion also presented an institutional presentation of the University of Strasbourg in terms of its capabilities, the number of students, faculty staff, and employees at the university, and the degrees it awards.

The two parties discussed areas of joint work in which they intend to cooperate, such as engineering, commerce, medicine and languages.

The meeting was attended from Ain Shams University by Prof. Ahmed Moneeb El-Sabbagh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical and Technological Education, Prof. Rania Salah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Shahira Samir, Professor of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, and the Directors of the International Collaboration Offices at the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering, the Director of the French Program at the Faculty of Business, and the Head of the French Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and from the University of Strasbourg, Ms. Mathilde Le Clinch, International Projects Engineer, and Ms. Galia Hovhannisyan, International Projects Officer, attended the meeting, in addition to the Assistant International Projects Engineer and Assistant Project Officer, and Prof. Bertrand Rose, Deputy Director of Engineering at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering.
