It is a great legacy and treasure founded by the late Rifa’a al-Tahtawi, the undisputed pioneer of translation in the modern era. He left a great and vast legacy of knowledge in science and translation. From the greatness of the ancestors, the grandchildren derive their strength, realizing the importance and size of this great legacy.
She continued her speech, pointing out that the Faculty of Al-Alsun is one of the ancient faculties that began in 1835 during the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha, and the first missions were with Rifa’a al-Tahtawi. Al-Alsun is a flourishing and transfer of civilizations and cultures. The faculty was able to create a great qualitative shift in transferring culture to 17 countries.

She pointed out that the descendants continued the path of the ancestors, armed with science, knowledge and the natural development witnessed by the change of times. The deans of the Faculty of Al-Alsun took turns in a long chronological sequence that witnessed continuous development processes to keep pace with the changes witnessed by different eras until Prof. Mona Fouad, the former dean of the faculty, after the end of her distinguished deanship of the faculty, handed over the reins of the faculty after its first academic accreditation, to issue a republican decree appointing Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University in 2019, to continue a distinguished journey of achievements, the top priorities of which were developing the scientific status of the faculty and increasing the number of credit hour programs to enhance the financial capabilities of the faculty to provide the best types of educational services to the sons of the venerable Faculty of Al-Alsun.

In a record time of only 22 days, the place was completed to be transformed into a large scientific beacon capable of serving the educational process and preparing new generations of faculty and university students capable of entering the labor market and proving their abilities in it, as well as providing human cadres in the Faculty of Al-Alsun capable of dealing with various languages of the world to serve the Egyptian government in communicating with various peoples of the world.
The new electronic examination halls were built on an area of 2200 square meters for development, where the existing ones were removed, new porcelain floors were made, 4 bathrooms were built, and rooms for the information network, surveillance systems and sound systems were built, in addition to fire-fighting systems, 780 digital points in the seats, gypsum ceilings, installation of fire exit gates, emergency exits, in addition to a granite entrance to allow students with special needs to enter. These halls are also environmentally friendly, as they are equipped with an energy-saving VRF air conditioning system, in addition to natural LED lighting systems with a capacity of 4000 Kelvin, a network of lighting outlets for the site was created, an advanced information network was created, a modern audio system network was created, a central clock network system, a digital advertising network and display screens, a closed door control system network, and air ducts were installed.
The equipment was implemented according to the specifications set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for electronic exams at the level of Egyptian universities, as the Ministry of Higher Education is responsible for supplying computers so that the student can take the exam electronically, to prove that Ain Shams University spares no effort in providing all the requirements to develop the educational process to keep pace with the latest scientific methods in international universities, and to simulate international technological universities on Egyptian lands, with the aim of opening new horizons for new programs using international educational technological tools for Egyptian, international and foreign students.
Recently, with great support from the university, the Faculty of Al-Alsun has received many electronic exams for itself and for a number of the university’s faculties, as well as electronic exams in cooperation with governmental, non-governmental and international bodies and agencies.
