As part of the Public Prosecution’s commitment to aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030, launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which is titled "A New Beginning to Build the Egyptian Citizen," the Attorney General, Counselor Mohamed Shawky, received the Ambassadors of the United Kingdom and Austria, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, along with a number of Egyptian and foreign university leaders, representatives of international agencies affiliated with the United Nations, and students from Northumbria University in the United Kingdom, the University of Vienna in Austria, and the German University in Cairo. This reception marked the launch of the first version of the Egyptian Public Prosecution’s program for legal expertise exchange with Egyptian and international universities and institutions.
Additionally, four cooperation protocols were signed between the Egyptian Public Prosecution and Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, Nile University, and the British University, aimed at fostering cultural and legal exchanges among judicial, academic, and student professionals from around the world, as a fundamental pillar for preparing the next generation of future leaders.
In his speech, the Attorney General emphasized the importance of respecting international norms, conventions, and agreements. He called for unity among those concerned with justice and law to counter any violations of international humanitarian law and to protect basic human rights, such as the right to life, food, and shelter. He also stressed the need to confront crimes of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement. He added that the regression of international legal norms would not only affect those who have fallen victim to such violations but will also have repercussions for those who take an ambiguous stance toward them.
The Attorney General concluded his speech by affirming that the Egyptian Public Prosecution is committed to being a part of the global human conscience, active in its regional and international environment, offering assistance to humanity with its infrastructure, operational capabilities, and academic knowledge, ensuring that future generations of legal professionals are aware of their human duties, which are closely linked to their legal responsibilities.
