Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Graduate Studies and Research Sector Council held its first meeting today, headed by Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, after assuming her position.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Deans of the faculties for graduate studies and specialized faculty staff, in addition to representatives of the concerned departments.

The meeting witnessed the honoring of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in appreciation of her efforts during her tenure as Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and her active role in developing academic oversight systems and enhancing quality standards in scientific research. Her achievements were also commended, which contributed to raising the university’s status at the research level.

Prof. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research, was also honored in recognition of his distinguished contributions to the development of the postgraduate studies system at the faculty, and his active role in supporting scientific research and innovation in the medical field.

In her opening speech, Dr. Amani Osama Kamel stressed the importance of the council meetings in developing the postgraduate studies and research sector, pointing out the importance of cooperation and integration between the various faculties to continue to raise the university's status locally and globally.

During the meeting, the minutes of the previous session were approved, in addition to discussing several pivotal topics related to the development of the postgraduate studies and scientific research system.

Presentations were also given by the relevant departments, during which the most important achievements and future plans were reviewed that aim to improve the level of postgraduate studies and scientific research at the university, to enhance the academic and research status of Ain Shams University, and to contribute to the preparation of qualified cadres that contribute to the development of society and meet the requirements of sustainable development.
