The Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University organized a successful evacuation experiment, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, in cooperation between the Crisis and Disaster Unit at the Faculty and the Civil Defense Department at the University.

All students, faculty staff, administrators and workers participated in the experiment. The evacuation process was successfully implemented according to the highest safety standards by organizing the exit of the participants without jostling or crowding, which contributed to achieving a safe and rapid evacuation plan within five minutes.

Prof. Osama Al-Sayed stressed that the evacuation experiment comes within the framework of the university and faculty’s keenness to enhance safety and civil protection procedures, and raise the efficiency of participants in dealing with emergency situations, explaining that the experiment demonstrated the faculty’s personnel’s readiness to deal with sudden emergency situations that may arise during the educational process.

It is noteworthy that the experiment began with prior practical training on civil defense and protection methods, including dealing with fires and rapid and safe evacuation procedures, in cooperation with the faculty’s civil defense and security teams.
