Ain Shams University team represented by the Faculty of Business won the bronze medal in the CFA Research Challenge competition held on February 15 under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University.
Prof. Hiam Wahba, Professor of Investment and Finance at the Faculty and the scientific and academic supervisor of the competition since 2015, explained that the distinguished team of faculty students - Mona Sameh, Laila Sami, Mohamed Maher, Farah El-Shafei, and Nadine Kamal - won third place and the bronze medal among 24 Egyptian universities.

She also explained that the team’s participation this year is the eleventh consecutive participation of the students of the Faculty of Business in the competition, during which the members of the Faculty of Business team at Ain Shams University were able to obtain third place and the bronze medal at the level of 24 universities after conducting many financial analysis operations, forecasting operations of economic indicators, evaluating international risks and the company’s performance in relation to social responsibility, environmental performance and governance with the aim of determining the fair market value of a group of hospitals operating in the private sector, which represents the topic of the competition this year and which is selected through the CFA Society Egypt.
It is worth noting that the team representing the faculty was prepared since August 2024 with the participation of many of the winning contestants in previous years at the faculty to achieve sustainability. The industry representative for the team was also one of the faculty graduates.

Prof. Hiam Wahba also explained that Ain Shams University, represented by the Faculty of Business, has won first place among all Egyptian universities in the CFA competition five times and represented Egypt at the regional and international levels in the global university competition held in London, Dublin, and Zurich during the years 2013, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
