A meeting of the Board of Directors of the University's Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center was held, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and attended by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the deans, Prof. Miriam Ayad, Director of the Center, and Major General Ahmed Lashin, Secretary-General of the University.
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAC) at Ain Shams University was held, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Amani Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the deans, Prof. Miriam Ayad, Director of the Center, Major General Ahmed Lashin, Secretary General of the University, and members of the Center's Board of Directors.
The meeting discussed the Center's most significant achievements over the past period and plans to improve the quality of education and scientific research at the university. During the meeting, the University President praised the Center's significant efforts, wishing them success in the coming period, and emphasizing the Center's role in unifying the efforts of the university's faculties to achieve the university's strategic vision.
The meeting addressed several topics, including a review of the achievements and activities of the Quality Assurance Center over the past six months, a presentation of the faculties' position regarding accreditation, and a discussion of a proposal to update the center's vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
During the meeting, Prof. Myriam Ayyad, Director of the Center, presented the proposed five-year plan (2024–2029) for the center, as well as a follow-up on improving quality plans in some faculties. She emphasized the university's commitment to implementing the highest quality standards, ensuring the graduation of qualified graduates capable of competing locally and internationally.
It is worth noting that the number of faculties at the university that have obtained institutional accreditation is five, the number of programs that have obtained academic accreditation is fifty, and the number of programs that have obtained conditional accreditation has reached 19 programs in the faculties of Science, Business, and Specific Education. A grace period has been granted for six programs in the faculties of Agriculture, Specific Education, and Arts.
Five faculties have also submitted applications for accreditation: Computer and Information Sciences, Arts, Engineering, Girls, and Agriculture.
The total number of internationally accredited programs is 10 across the faculties of Engineering, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Computer and Information Sciences.
The President of University also thanked Prof. Miriam Ayyad, director of the center, for her outstanding efforts in developing the university's quality systems and her effective contribution to completing the university's accreditation requirements.
