She emphasized that Egypt is full of talented and creative individuals capable of enriching art in general and drama in particular, and of shedding light on societal and behavioral issues and topics through sophisticated works capable of positively influencing audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Prof. Mohamed Khattab, Professor of Psychology, highlighted the role of art in changing misconceptions, citing works such as "I Want a Solution" and "Under Guardianship," which have had a tangible impact on society. Screenwriter Magdy Saber spoke about his passion for reading, owning a library of more than 15,000 books. He also expressed his desire to write works about historical figures such as Rose Al-Youssef, Samira Moussa, and Ramses II, emphasizing that presenting such models enriches national awareness.
Dr. Mohamed Khattab emphasized that drama represents "a mirror of society," as Aristotle pointed out, due to its profound impact on shaping individual and collective awareness. He added that some dramatic works have contributed to changing misconceptions about society, such as reducing the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. He pointed to films such as "I Want a Solution," which contributed to amending the Personal Status Law, and "They Made Me a Criminal," which highlighted the importance of rehabilitating prisoners. He also cited series such as "Under Guardianship" and "Lam Shamsya," which discussed thorny social issues.
