A symposium at the Faculty of Pharmacy on the applications of nanotechnology in skincare products

As part of the Faculty of Pharmacy's commitment to linking scientific research with community needs in the fields of health and beauty, the Faculty's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized the cultural season activities for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Rehab Othman Ahmed, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The symposium was supervised by Prof. Rola Milad Labib, Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The sixth symposium in the cultural season series was titled "The Use of Advanced Nanotechnology in Skincare Products." It was delivered by Dr. Iman El-Marakby, Lecturer in the Faculty's Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy.

         
   
         

The lecture reviewed the challenges facing the skincare industry, highlighting the most prominent nanotechnologies used in this field and the benefits they offer, such as enhancing the effectiveness of ingredients and improving their absorption through the skin. Live models of several global products based on nanotechnology were also presented.

The symposium was attended by several faculty members and support staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
