Within the framework of the protocol signed between them, the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University and the Specialized Dental Center in Zahraa Nasr City organized a medical awareness convoy for early detection of oral and dental diseases at the Sondos Foundation for Orphans with Special Needs. The convoy was under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Israa Ahmed, Coordinator of Cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Specialized Dental Center in Zahraa Nasr City, and Dr. Safaa Fouad, Director of Medical Services at the Center and Coordinator of Cooperation between the University and the Center.
The convoy aims to detect gum and dental diseases early, prevent diseases affecting children due to malnutrition and failure to follow healthy eating habits, and detect allergies and other diseases early.
The convoy included a group of specialized doctors, where the children were examined and given a lecture to raise awareness of the importance of eating healthy food for dental health, which contains dairy products to provide them with calcium and vitamin D, which are important for dental health, and the necessity of eating red meat and fish and the benefits of fruits and vegetables for the health of the body, and warning against eating too many sweets and sweets that stick to the teeth because they cause tooth decay and emphasizing the importance of brushing the teeth after eating sweets to get rid of the remains that stick to the teeth and cause contamination.
