Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser, Secretary-General of the University, held a preparatory meeting to follow up on the executive position of the award and prepare to prepare the file for colleges that meet the conditions for applying for the Arab Government Excellence Award competition.
This comes at the request of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, to form a committee headed by Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid to follow up and prepare, and the competition comes in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Professor Karam Hegazi, Assistant Secretary of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant University Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Khatib, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs and gentlemen, faculty agents for community service affairs and environmental development and gentlemen of university faculties.
Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid explained during the meeting the necessity of preparing well for each faculty and participating in the governmental excellence award to supervise the university in an honorable representation in the competition, within a number of participating faculties.
He expressed his optimism that the Arab administrative development journey will start, which will lead us to bear results for our region and our prestigious university, stressing that "Ain Shams University can play a great developmental role if we can advance Arab administrative development through it."
Also, he stressed the need to ensure the availability of conditions in advanced faculties.
In the same context, Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser, Secretary-General of the University, stressed during the meeting that the award comes within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030, which aims to reach an efficient and effective administrative body that contributes to development, noting that the main goal of the Government Excellence Award is to stimulate the spirit of competition and excellence. At the level of employees on the one hand, and at the level of government institutions on the other hand, as well as spreading a culture of quality and excellence at the level of the state’s administrative apparatus and achieving better rates for upgrading the university.
In the context of the current executive status of the award, he made it clear that the deadline for submission was 01/31/2020
It is worth noting that this award comes under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and Saudi Arabia. The Arab Organization for Administrative Development was launched in the League of Arab States in cooperation with the government of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Government Excellence Award, the first of its kind in the Arab world, to be the largest Arab in the field of development, improvement and administrative excellence in the Arab region.
The award aims to create a new Arab movement in the field of management that applies international best practices in the field of government performance excellence, highlights successful administrative experiences in the Arab region, honors Arab government competencies, and creates positive leadership thinking among government sectors to adopt institutional excellence, and renew processes and systems Existing using smart technologies, to implement future government visions and strategies.
