The Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, was established by Republican Decree No. 287 of 1994. The study began in the preparatory year of the academic year 1995/1996.

It has been taken into account in the design of the faculty building to be consistent with the developments in the field of pharmaceutical education that are internationally accredited, and that it has all student services, rooms for faculty members and workers in administrative departments, laboratories, auditoriums, classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, a reading room, and recreational places, in addition to specialized laboratories, an educational factory, an animal house, and general stores, and the unit for the disposal of laboratory and farm waste, the public garage, and other construction services of an educational nature.

In carrying out its mission, the college uses specialized laboratories equipped with high technologies made up of standard glass tools and devices, pharmaceutical chemicals, analyzers and accurate measurements, as well as appropriate auditoriums and classrooms. It implements the teaching plans, takes care of the students scientifically, and ensures that they reach the appropriate scientific level by a distinguished faculty in the various branches of pharmacy and its specializations.

The faculty also includes a scientific library that contains a variety of leading scientific books and references specialized in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and medical sciences with inter-relationships, which are updated annually with new developments in the fields of research and reading.
