As part of Cairo University's commitment to raising awareness about sustainable development and achieving its goals in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, the Sustainability Excellence Center organized an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Dentistry on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Karim El Batouty, Dean of the Faculty, with the supervision of Prof. Walaa Mohamed Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Dr. Zeinab Mahmoud Hindi, Deputy Director of the Sustainability Excellence Center, delivered the lecture, attended by a group of faculty staff.
The seminar addressed key issues such as global warming, climate change, and the importance of measuring the water and carbon footprints. It also focused on the rational use of energy and water to improve efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The seminar featured constructive discussions with attendees, highlighting the importance of individual efforts in conserving natural resources and the positive impact of such actions on the environment.
