photo....Ain Shams University discusses fourth generation wars

Within the framework of the activities of the cultural and artistic season of Ain Shams University, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, opened a seminar on "Fourth Generation Wars", which was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the General Authority for Cultural Palaces and a Family for Central Egypt and the General Administration for Youth Welfare.

The seminar was attended by Major General Staff of War Fouad Youssef Fayoud, Advisor to the Director of the Moral Affairs Department of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Council of Egyptian Scholars.

     
     
The symposium was held amidst strict preventive and precautionary measures, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of Faculty of Al-Alsun, and Prof. Dr. Taya Abd al-Latif, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Adviser to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs for Student Activities, and Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Vice Dean of the College of Commerce for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, Brigadier Muhammad Ramadan, Director of the Military Education Department at the University, and a group of faculty, students and administrators. The symposium was moderated by Prof. Dr. Heba Shaheen is Professor and Head of Communication and Media Sciences Department at the College of Arts and Director of the Media Center.In his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud said that the university is keen to establish such activities that contribute to building awareness of university youth and developing their awareness of the seriousness of the current challenges and the plots being plotted aimed at stopping the wheel of construction and development.He added that what we are witnessing of fourth-generation wars is nothing but a mixture of all the forms and strategies that wars have witnessed since their inception, which makes them more deadly and more influential, which requires us to be more vigilant and cautious and to arm current and future generations with awareness, develop the spirit of loyalty and belonging and awaken the national sense they have.

He reviewed various pictures from the fourth generation wars, which are the biological wars, as well as the attempts to smuggle drugs and spread them among the youth.

     
     

Police Brigadier Ibrahim Al-Ghazzawi talked about the nature of wars over the generations, where the wars of the first generation were represented in the confrontation between two armies, which is called the classic war, and then the wars of the second generation, which is a guerrilla war such as America's war against Vietnam in the sixties, and the subsequent wars The third generation, which is a pre-emptive war like the US war against Iraq in 2003, then the fourth generation wars, which is the asymmetric war between states in which states face invisible and unknown parties, and their parties are often children of the same state, as well as using terrorism to reach the desired goal It is the dismantling of states from the inside, citing a quote by Max Weinig in 2018 during his meeting with the leaders of Israel when he explained the concept of fourth-generation wars in the exhaustion of states gradually and very slowly without their people noticing.

He added that this terrorism is spreading from one place to another with the support of countries and the intelligence services.

Pointing out that psychological warfare is one of the weapons of fourth-generation wars, as some groups in society are used to spread negative energy and destroy the traditions and symbols of states and destructive ideas.

Stressing that the countries that collapse in this way, it is difficult to have a list again, citing what happened in the former Soviet Union as well as some Arab countries.

In the conclusion of his speech, Brigadier General Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ghazzawi emphasized that the way to confront the wars of the fourth generation is logical thinking and armament with reason and wisdom.

Praising the measures taken by Egypt to eliminate the causes of psychological warfare, such as the elimination of slums.

After that, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, the lecturers' guests, valued their role in raising youth awareness of the seriousness of what is happening around the world and its effects on the region.

The door for discussion and questions was also opened to students.

The symposium was followed by a technical performance by the Culture Palaces Youth Authority group.
