The Crisis Management Committee was formed upon the assignment of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel- Fattah Saud - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and the membership of each of Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel Aal - Executive Director of the Education Development Department, Prof. Dr. Islam Hijazi - Director of the CIO Information Network, Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Gabarti - Director of the E-Learning Center at the University, and Dr. Ahmed Samir Bakr - Vice President of the E-Learning Center, Faculty of Medicine.
The committee met on Monday 3/9/2020 and concluded the necessity of "shifting from traditional learning to distance learning" through pre-emptive measures that contain a basic plan and an alternative plan to confront the crisis so that the student can follow the lectures and interact with the faculty members and among the students each other. In addition to reviewing and submitting the required assignments and following up on the developments announced through the use of e-learning management systems and virtual classes.
The committee also developed a work continuity plan in the event of a crisis, which would evaluate the situation, study the available alternatives, recommend the most appropriate alternative, and raise the matter to the president of the university to take a decision, and accordingly, the faculties and the authorities concerned with activation are notified to start implementing the plan and direct students and faculty to the alternative path through the official e-mail and various means of communication.
