Cellular and Gene Therapies...A seminar at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maha Nasr, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy and Director of the Department of International Relations and Academic Cooperation at the faculty, a seminar was held on cellular and gene therapies.

         
   
         

Presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Hadi, Director of the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Intelia Pharma Company in the United States of America, and a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, class of 2003. The symposium dealt with information about the latest cancer treatment techniques using CAR-T therapeutic technology and the steps of genetic engineering of cells to turn into an effective treatment for late-stage cancer patients. And models of treatments authorized using this technology, as part of a series of weekly scientific symposia held by the college during the academic year 2021/2022.

The seminar was also held via Zoom application and by displaying it on the interactive screens in the stands, in the presence of a number of faculty members and faculty students.
