The Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the University’s Graduate Studies and Research Sector, is organizing a major celebration on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day, today, Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the faculty’s conference hall.
The celebration is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, under the supervision of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and the preparation and coordination of Prof. Manal Muharram, Head of the Arabic Language Department, Dr. Hoda Attia, literary critic and head of the department’s cultural activity committee.
Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed the Faculty’s keenness to annually celebrate the International Day of the Arabic Language, given that it is the mother tongue of the Arab peoples, and the Faculty’s leadership in emphasizing the importance of studying the Arabic language carefully and raising the level of scholars and researchers. Graduates of the Arabic Language Department are considered among the most skilled graduates of Arabic Language departments at the level of Universities in Egypt. The department is honored to include experts in literature, science, and language who represent the college and university in relevant international and regional forums.
The celebration is presented by the great radio personality, Mr. Sayyed Hassan, and the celebration hosts a large number of poets, critics, novelists, and a large group of those interested in enriching and empowering the refined Arabic language and spreading its culture. The celebration’s program includes several segments, including recitation of the Holy Qur’an, religious chanting, and testimonies of love for the Arabic language. The celebration will host artists: Ahmed Salama, Samira Abdel Aziz, Tariq Al-Desouki, Mahmoud Al-Hadini, the great film director Dr. Ahmed Fouad Darwish, director Ahmed Atef Dorra, radio director and novelist Reda Soliman, screenwriter Ibrahim Muhammad Ali.
Then comes the “Classical Bouha paragraph,” which is a poetic paragraph in which the following sing poetry: Ahmed Sweilem, Ihab Al-Bashbishi, Jamal Al-Shaer, Jamal Al-Qassas, Al-Sayyid Hassan, Abdel Aziz Juwaida, and Muhammad Al-Shahat, as for “The Novel and the Magic of Language.”, Ahmed Abdo, Sayed Al-Wakil, Salah Maaty, Mohsen Al-Ghamri, and Muhammad Abdel-Hafiz Nassef, followed by a lyrical interlude by singer Hassan Zaki and singer Ghada Al-Absi, spoke.
Then honors will come to all those who have enriched the literary and linguistic field and the personalities interested in supporting and empowering the language, and the film “The Story of Al-Dad” prepared by the department’s students will be shown.
Finally, the second poetic paragraph is entitled: “Revelation of classical Arabic and music,” accompanied by singing by the singer Ahmed Imam, Ahmed Gad, Ahmed Al-Jaafari, Ahmed Hafez, Ahmed Siraj, Ahmed Abdel Qader, Ahmed Al-Muraikhi, Osama Gad, Ayat Abdel Moneim, Jaber Bassiouni, Muhammad Abu Al-Azm, Muhammad Abu Al-Leif, Muhammad Rabie Hammad, Muhammad Arab Saleh, Muhammad Aziz, Muhammad Ghazi Al-Najjar, Dr. Morsi Awad, Mahmoud Salam Abu Malik and Yasser Khalil.
The name of the late professor and literary critic Prof. Salah Fadl, who enriched the Arab literary and intellectual library and the faculty library with dozens of books and research.
