As part of the Faculty of Medicine's celebration of World Mental Health Day, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the faculty, in collaboration with the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, organized an awareness seminar on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Hospital Board.
The seminar discussed the importance of raising community awareness about mental illnesses and the role of the Faculty of Medicine in spreading awareness about various mental health conditions. It also addressed the necessity of paying attention to mental health, achieving psychological harmony with oneself and others, the ability to face crises positively, and the signs indicating the presence of psychological disorders, which prevent a person from managing daily life properly. The seminar emphasized the importance of seeking help for psychological treatment.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Tarek Ahmed Okasha, Head of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry.
