Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from Beijing Foreign Studies University, headed by Prof. Jian Wen Jian, President of the University, in the presence of Prof. Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Student Office, Prof. Hassanein Fahmy Hussein, Acting Head of the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the International Collaboration Office at the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Hager Mahrous, Supervisor of the International Collaboration Office at the Faculty of Al-Alsun.

During the meeting, it was agreed to renew the existing cooperation agreement between the two universities and expand its scope to include, in addition to the exchange of students and professors, organizing scientific seminars, and launching joint research projects.

The launch of joint programs with the Faculty of Law, cooperation in specialized fields for people with special needs with the Faculty of Education, exchange of expertise with the Faculty of Commerce, and a proposal to establish a center for economic and financial studies in cooperation with the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University to meet the needs of Chinese companies operating in Egypt were also discussed, in line with the tenth anniversary of the start of the Egyptian-Chinese strategic partnership through the Belt and Road Initiative. The Faculty of Languages ​​​​welcomed enhancing cooperation in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, in addition to developing joint international programs and exchanging academic and student expertise.

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed the delegation, stressing the depth of relations between Ain Shams University and China, and that the academic and cultural cooperation between Ain Shams University and the University of Foreign Studies in Beijing represents an important step towards enhancing cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries.

He added that Ain Shams University always seeks to expand the frameworks of cooperation with prestigious international universities.

For his part, the President of Beijing Foreign Studies University expressed his happiness to strengthen the partnership with Ain Shams University, which enjoys a long history and a prestigious regional and international position, looking forward to implementing new cooperation programs that will contribute to achieving academic and research excellence and strengthening cultural relations between China and Egypt.

It is worth noting that prior to the meeting, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady accompanied the Chinese delegation on a tour of the Zafaran Museum, and the delegation praised the valuable archaeological collections contained in the museum.
