Ain Shams University continues its community role with a development convoy for Qena Governorate

Within the framework of Ain Shams University's interest in participating in the activities of the "New Beginning for Human Development" initiative, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the university organized a comprehensive development convoy for Qena Governorate, at Farshout Center, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Hala Samir Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and the technical supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.

         
   
         
         
   
         

The convoy provided medical services to more than 3,500 beneficiaries over four consecutive days through the convoy's clinics, which included ten different specialties, in addition to the convoy's pharmacy, which provided its pharmaceutical services free of charge. Medical cases requiring greater medical intervention were transferred to Ain Shams University Hospitals.

Awareness campaigns were also presented to school students in different educational grades, which addressed various topics aimed at raising awareness among students, including: skills to modify negative behaviors, values ​​and morals and their role in building society, the dangers of early marriage for girls and society, and healthy habits to prevent diseases.

Within the "Egypt without Illiteracy" project, the Adult Education Center at the university, in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education, held an immediate exam for 51 individuals and a writing assignment for 40 individuals. In coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Social Affairs Authority in the governorate, and the Red Crescent Society, 500 blankets and a number of food aid were distributed.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, inspected the work of the convoy and expressed his appreciation to those in charge of this comprehensive development convoy, pointing out the importance of continued cooperation between various parties to implement similar convoys that provide tangible medical and humanitarian services to citizens in various parts of the governorate.

Prof. Ghada Farouk confirmed that the university's development convoy to serve the people of Qena Governorate comes within the plan of the University's Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector to launch a number of comprehensive development convoys in various governorates of Egypt within the activities of the Bedaya Initiative, where successive comprehensive development convoys were implemented to the governorates of: Sharkia - Sohag - Red Sea - Halayeb and Shalateen" in addition to implementing a number of development convoys within Cairo Governorate within the framework of the university's societal role to serve the people of the most needy areas.
