As part of its community engagement efforts, the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University celebrated Orphan’s Day under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Karim El Battouty, Dean of the Faculty; and Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The celebration included a variety of activities aimed at providing healthcare, support, and entertainment for children.

The event featured a medical convoy to Al-Sondos Orphanage and Care Center for People of Determination in Fifth Settlement, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. Medical examinations were conducted for 150 children, including both healthy children and those with special needs. Fluoride treatments were administered, and awareness sessions were held to emphasize the importance of oral hygiene and healthy nutrition. Toothbrushes and toothpaste were also distributed to the children, with the participation of faculty members, teaching assistants, internship students from the faculty, and doctors from the Ministry of Health.

Additionally, the faculty hosted children from four different orphanages located in areas such as Helmiyat Al-Zaytoun and Abbasiya. A special fun day was organized for the children, including the distribution of meals, gifts, and dental care kits. Fluoride sessions were also carried out to protect their teeth. The children expressed great joy and appreciation for the various activities and events provided.
